Story

written 5/18/79----- One of my favorite albums back then was Greg Allman's Laid Back. He wrote all these beautiful songs for his wife at the time Janice-then she dumped him. That was a life lesson for me-beware of those love songs. "Don't wanna speak too soon, cause everytime I do, uh oh something goes wrong and I guess I'm to blame".

Lyrics

Pretty Mama Doodle-lit-doo-doo whoa-oh Doodle-lit-doo-doo pretty mama Doodle-lit-doo-doo whoa-oh yea Doodle-lit-doo-doo whoa-oh yea, pretty mama she's been there right through it all through thick or thin whenever I call I'd be a fool to let her go now just like a good friend she won't let you down and I'm singin' Doodle-lit-doo-doo whoa oh Doodle-lit-doo-doo pretty mama there were times I was depressed look in the mirror, oh what a mess then she came along in her own footloose way scatter those forces inspire my day and I'm singin' Doodle-lit-doo-doo whoa-oh yea Doodle-lit-doo-doo pretty mama don't want to think it's cool thinkin' everything is so secure don't want to speak too soon cause everytime I do.. oh oh uh oh something goes wrong and I guess I'm to blame I think I belong but I feel out of place now I walk with her and she doesn't mind we only go out to have a good time and I'm singin' Doodle-lit-doo-doo whoa-oh Doodle-lit-doo-doo pretty mama Doodle-lit-doo-doo whoa-oh yea Doodle-lit-doo-doo pretty mama
